K Ramkumar appointed the new national president of the National HRD Network

K. Ramkumar, executive director on the board of ICICI Bank and president of ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth has been appointed the new national president of the National HRD Network (NHRDN), the apex body of HR professionals.

He succeeds Rajeev Dubey, Group President - HR & Corporate Services & CEO, After Market and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra. 

In his new role, Ramkumar will lead the organisation's mission by working with an experienced team of senior officials, to build HR ethos and managerial excellence in India. 

Prior to joining ICICI Bank in 2001, Ramkumar served in companies such as Hindustan Aeronautics, Brooke Bond Lipton India Limited (now Hindustan Unilever Limited) and ICI India Ltd. He worked in these companies in the areas of Human Resources Management and Manufacturing. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Madras School of Social Work. 

At ICICI Bank, he conceived and nurtured the Institute for Finance, Banking & Insurance and the ICICI Manipal Academy for Banking & Insurance and led the CSR project of ICICI Foundation on skilling youth and promoting livelihood. This is done under the ICICI Academy for Skills initiative, which has 11 centres across India. Over 11,000 underprivileged youth have been trained at the ICICI Academy of Skills as of March 31, 2015.
